In case of inadequate or incorrect dental care this environment forms the breeding ground for the development of tooth decay, periodontal disease and plaque. In particular the acidic metabolic products of different groups of this bacterium promote in the medium-term gum inflammation. Plaque forms regularly new. This can be clearly seen from the yellowish / white deposits to notice between, at and on the teeth. These deposits are particularly visible on the gum margins.
